Checking in...

Once you pass by Desert Palm's residence area you finally reach the hotel reception area for the check-in, spa, restaurants, etc. The place is super secluded, you won't find yourself bumping into people on the regular. (It's kind of scary at night, haha!) We arrived at around 12pm for an early check-in. The check-in process at Desert Palm is pretty simple and quick. We were handed our key cards and on the way to our villa in the buggy within just 10 minutes. Absolutely love quick check-in processes! The hotel is not too extravagant, in fact it's one of those simple yet beautiful ones. Just a few art pieces here and there. The buggy rides were not the best as it was about 40+ degrees, although the beautiful waterfalls every few steps make you forget about the heat at times. We were then shown our 2 bedroom pool villa which also had its own garage, just like any other villa there.

Our stay at Desert Palm...

As mentioned above, the decor and style of the hotel & rooms is nothing extraordinary, it's more plain and simple. Once you enter pass the villa gate and through the door you come across a table with pamphlets, books, and varies menus. To your left is the kitchen, in front is the sitting area plus dining, and to your right are the rooms and toilets. This two bedroom pool villa also includes of an office area (which is so thoughtful, it's just perfect if you want to relax and get some work done while you're on holiday). In total, there are three washrooms. This place is perfect for a cute family getaway, they have a dining table for 8, 2 bedrooms, plus a super comfy living area and a pool. One thing we really loved about this place was how spacious it is, from the dining area to the bedrooms there's quite a passage to walk through to get to the rooms which is nice, rather than having everything all stuffed together. We started our day with a few shoots here and there, the outdoor pool and garden area is perfect for an "instagrammable" background. The heat definitely makes it challenging to get even one good photo without having to squint and feel like you're on fire haha! Nonetheless, we got some pretty amazing photos. We then waited for the sun to go down so that we could actually chill by the pool, within that time the barbecue guys showed up to set up for dinner. While staying at Desert Palm, you can opt for a private bbq dinner with or without a waiter. It's a pretty cool concept and experience. The waiter sets up plates, cutlery, and water for you and they start with serving cold starters, like salads, tabouleh, and basically whatever you pick to have beforehand. We went for salads, chicken bbq and some fish. It was SO SO yummy, well done, and full of flavor. Definitely something you should try out if you're looking to stay at Desert Palm. We had a midnight swim, a mini game sesh and called it a night. Day 2 included of a delicious breakfast, lounging around watching Netflix shows, spa day, some pool time, good food, and just chilling in general. There are many more activities to try out at Desert Palm but we were already so occupied and tired, we didn't get a chance to. You can ride horse-back through the estate (it's gigantic), they have something called the stables fitness center which is a pretty cool feature, and much more.

Coming to the details of the villa...

Naturally modern rooms, suites and villas with vistas of green, surrounded by views of nature. Accommodation offers king size and emperor beds, oversized eiderdown pillows, high-tech surrounds, rainfall showers and understated interiors touched with Arabia Avant-Garde. Dallmayr coffee machines, a selection of JING teas, Bose surround sound, REN amenities, rain showers, LED TV with audio and video on demand, AirPlay and Chromecast features, wine fridges and uniquely enticing minibars add the finishing touch.

You are basically surrounded by greenery, the garden is just beautiful and the pool area is a vibe during the day! Some minor details we personally did not like about the villa would be the super simple wooden furniture, the plain walls, and the toiletries (always prefer more well known brands). Most of the tables in the room were just empty, you usually expect basic dresser necessities or office table items. Other than that everything was up to the mark especially the marble installations in the washrooms, they're just so pretty!

The washrooms are super spacious, there's a toilet area, a shower area, sink area, and bath tub and last but not the least, the natural lighting in the washrooms were life changing. Perfect for all those selfies, in fact we also got a couple of shots in there and they were just amazing. In general, the washrooms were pretty cool. The staff at the hotel is pretty decent, very accommodating and available at all times. The house-keeping guys did quite a good job and were always available to our strange requests like "ice" and spray for the red ants. They're also super quick! It's the same for the service at the restaurants in fact, they were even more polite. So that's something we most definitely appreciated while staying at Desert Palm.

The glass kitchen is so unique and gives the whole villa a posh look, like that there are many tiny details that make the villa just beautiful as a whole. It has the perfect resort family vibe, so it's perfect for a weekend getaway with the fam.

Our experience at Lime Spa...

Day 2 of our stay at Desert Palm we went to check out their spa for a much needed body massage. Before the treatment, they offer a cold towel to cleanse your hands and a form to fill in your details. They also ask you to pick your preferred oil from three. If you arrive half an hour before your appointment, you get to enjoy some of the spa's SUBLime facilities which include of, steam room, sauna, ice room, cold plunge pool, heated beds and chrome therapeutic showers. We weren't able to try out any of their facilities, we just headed straight to our massage rooms. Each of LIME Spa’s six treatment rooms overlook the lush green landscape of the polo fields. The girls are so so sweet and make you feel really comfortable. They start off with cleaning your feet in rose water and then dive right into the 60 min body massage which was extremely relaxing and soothing. It just added to the lovely stay at Desert Palm, Per Aquum. The LIME intuitive massage, LIME Spa’s signature treatment uses a variety of techniques, such as Swedish, Thai, shiatsu, aromatherapy and Balinese all of which are tailored to the individual.
