Where: Patiala by Kunal Kapur, Souk Al Bahar, Downtown
Service: Poor and absolutely disappointing. Our server was extremely confused when asked about anything to do with the restaurant or the dishes. Not just one server, but every server was least interested in assisting with anything, nor did they have any knowledge on the menu.
What we loved: The prawn stater and the fried okra. and the pav bhaji was pretty good too.
What we didn’t like as much: We were welcomed with some juices which looked good but tasted average, nothing great or new. We didn’t enjoy the drinks at all. They were meant to be “mocktails” supposedly curated by someone but tasted like a sh We were then each served small appetizers which was a hit and a miss, we liked a few and hated a few. For the mains, we had the chole bhature, keema pav, and pav bhaji, the chole was a bit too salty, the keema (mutton) was salty too. Coming to the desserts, the presentation really wasn’t up to the mark, the pancake was basically a crepe. We didn’t enjoy any of the desserts. Wouldn’t recommend the food here at all unless they made some serious changes.
Ambiance: Quite empty, started getting slightly occupied only post 3:30 pm.
More on Patiala by Kunal Kapur: Starting from AED250++ with soft beverages and AED350++ with house beverages, from 12pm till 4pm every Saturday.
