Service: Every server knows the menu & concept very well, which was quiet surprising in a good way. Sweet and well-rounded staff.

What we loved: Chef Devahive’s creations are out of this world, authentic yet a fusion of modern Spanish food you’ve never tasted in Dubai. We didn’t have one specific dish as a favorite, I realized this when one of us asked Chef  Alain Devahive what were his favorite dishes on the menu, and he said that he doesn’t concentrate on just one or two dishes as his best works, but instead puts his 100% in the making of  every dish on his menu, which is quite endearing. I couldn’t decide which was my favorite dish, I really did love the mushroom croquettes but then I also loved the Spanish omelette but then I also loved the eggplant dish and so it goes on. You can’t just pick one because then you realize it wasn’t the only one you loved. The mushroom croquettes was indeed perfect, a distinctive addition to your taste buds is the sauce that comes on the top of each one. The desserts were out of this world, the cheese flan with berries just melts in your mouth. It’s such a unique dish, I don’t think I’ve tasted anything like the desserts at Laluz before.

What we didn’t like as much:  Honestly nothing we really disliked!

What we recommend: (certainly everything we tried!)

  • Mushroom croquette
  • Traditional Spanish omelette
  • Popcorn Ice Cream with Dulce De Leche
  • Churros with chocolate foam

Ambiance: Quiet lively even though it was an afternoon in Ramadan.

More on Laluz…

Laluz is Chef  Alain Devahive’s first venture in Dubai, and it is definitely one of the best Spanish restaurants I have personally been to in Dubai. If you’re looking for some really tasteful contemporary European food, then Laluz is definitely your spot.
