Prepare for a better burn | Pilates at A-Tone

"When you come to A-Tone, you come to fitness."

What They Say...

"Going to a gymnasium to get fit can be a daunting experience. From stares across the hall, to orders from an angry trainer to go hard, or go home. Fitness mantras, chants to push yourself harder. Veteran gym-freaks will tell you that you’ll get used to the stress that you’ll learn to ignore the aggressive calls to action. Train with celebrity trainer Yasmin Karachiwala who makes it her job to make you look and feel good with her BODY IMAGE Pilates programs that have helped the likes of Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Ilena D’Cruz become the best version of themselves that they can be. We create award-winning regimes to suit your personal needs, train you to love your body so much that you simply can’t stand harming it with processed foods or poor choices. We believe in body positivity, and our exemplary trainers make it their mission to take you to where you want to be. When you come to A-Tone, you open the door to fresh juices at the lounge with new friends, relaxing yoga sessions to shake the stress off, and music at the promenade. When you come to A-Tone, you experience a whole new side of you that takes challenges you never thought you could stand head on. When you come to A-Tone, you come to happiness, and victories, every day."

Personally...

Pilates is something we three sisters absolutely love! It's the perfect form of exercise. Pilates builds strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone with an emphasis on lengthening the body and aligning the spine, rather than on bulking and shortening the muscles. It has a focus on the core which can basically be thought of as the ‘powerhouse’ of your body. These results are unlike any other type of exercise, so if you feel like you have already tried everything to get the body you want without success, Pilates will astound you. At a-tone they ask you to first try out their 'introductory' pilates class and then move on to the higher levels only because they do not want a complete beginner in the level 1 classes. The introductory class truly helps with getting to know the reformers, what each part is called, etc. The studio is quite aesthetically pleasing, a lot of whites and motivating quotes here and there. It consists of 3-4 separate rooms, for yoga, private training, pilates, and cross-cuit. During and after our first class, the Reformer Level 1, we certainly did feel the burn especially in the core area. The trainer worked on all the body parts equally but mainly on legs and abs. It was sore to another level the next day which is honestly so satisfying! Each pilates class consists of only nine people max, this is great because the trainer really gets to focus on each and every one. Some of the trainers aren't the most friendliest or jolly ones you would usually come across at fitness lounges but they do know what they're doing and get the job done, which is more important. Overall, it's definitely a place we'd recommend, for pilates especially. So far, it's been working very well for us, we can already see and feel the difference! They have 2-3 different package options, we personally love the unlimited classes per month package because of the pilates junkies we've become but of course to each their own.
