JW Marriott Marquis’ Arabian restaurant Nawwara has now changed to a Peruvian restaurant, ‘Garden’ with Peruvian chef, Edgar Hurtado, who has moved from The Act Dubai. The idea was to have a lounge, a restaurant and a club all near by and so the Garden restaurant has just newly launched along with ‘Square’, the berlin inspired club next door and their soon opening London styled open terrace venue, ‘Park’.

Service: Friendly, incredibly accommodating and super sweet. Very welcoming and caring. Instead of the traditional bread basket we were offered hot mozzarella balls filled with a lot of hot cheese. We were assisted and taken care by one of the staff, Karolise, who asked us our preference on the lamb being medium or well sone (unlike many restaurants). …. Also responded well to all our questions on the menu, as we weren’t very familiar with most of the Peruvian dishes and all of the staff were also very attentive.
What we loved: The food leans towards the healthier side and their dress code is casual! Chef Edgar personally came to us for a feedback on the food and also gave us a better insight to the food. Additionally, every dish Karolise suggested was simply delicious. Especially the Aji De Gallina Hualpa (chicken dish). At first we thought the portion was a bit less for 2 people to share but as we dug into the dish we couldn’t finish it because of how filling it was. Additionally, one of the cold starters, which had the white fish, was so tasty that we finished every bit of it left in the bowl. We absolutely loved the calamari (considering, unlike most, we are not fans in general). It was the most delicious item on the menu. The Tres Leches, which was the creamy sponge cake, was profoundly delicious, it just melted in our mouth and even though we were so full we had to finish the whole cake because it was so appetizing. This was without a doubt the highlight of the night. Definitely the place for authentic Peruvian food! Totally recommend it
What we didn’t love as much: A very compact & limited menu.
Ambiance: Casual and cool. Very cozy with wood tables, a lot of greenery, good music and dimmed lights, if that’s what you’re looking for. Interesting interiors, like the newspaper cuttings covering few of their walls, where they also feature creative designs.
