Restaurant Review: Mozzo Centrale

Mozzo Centrale, Dubai’s cozy neighborhood eatery situated in the heart of Jumeirah has added some delectable dishes to its menu. A welcome change for the late risers, the eatery has also extended its breakfast time to 6pm on weekends which is pretty interesting, and who wouldn’t mind that. Further highlighting the ‘most important meal of the day’ Mozzo Centrale will now be serving the breakfast menu until 6pm on weekends. A lot of people prefer to sleep in on weekends and are left with very few places that serve breakfast until late, and what better place than a spot that offers both breakfast and lunch till late evening.

Cuisine: Italian, Mediterranean, Pizza

Where: Mozzo Centrale, Umm Al Sheif Street, Umm Suqeim

Perfect for: A lazy weekend breakfast spot served in a cozy setting.

Service: Sweet & friendly.

What we loved: The welcome bread sticks infused with garlic and served with crushed olives on the side was different & very delicious. All the drinks we ordered were pretty good too, especially the mocha one. We absolutely loved the calamari fritti which was deep fried fresh calamari served with tartare sauce. The sauce really changes the taste of the calamari. We loved how the salad was super filling & delicious, it had shrimps and avocados (our favorites) and the sauces were mixed very well… We could eat this salad all day everyday, definitely going back to Mozzo for this. If you’re a prawn lover, you have to try it out! The only breakfast dish we ordered was the eggs benedict and that was perfect. The reason we didn’t stick to only breakfast dishes was so that we could taste a little bit of everything at Mozzo Centrale.

What we didn’t like as much: To be very honest, we weren’t a fan of the main dishes. We ordered the tagliatelle alfredo which is homemade tagliatelle, chicken, mushroom, cream, extra virgin oil, & Parmesan cheese. It was a bit too bland, they could add a little more flavor to it and maybe make it with more sauce so that the dish does not become too dry quickly. For the next main dish, we had asked our server to suggest a pizza for us & she suggested the chicken tikka pizza and so we went for that however, it was excessively flavored & too soggy .

What we recommend:

  • Calamari Fritti
  • Prawn Ceaser Salad
  • Spicy Chicken strips

Ambiance: A chill ambiance, where you can spend time on just eating and enjoying the perfect weather. The outside area was pretty occupied. Indoors was the opposite.
