Rüya, newest Turkish restaurant in town and also

one of this year’s most anticipated restaurant openings from the Dogus Restaurant Entertainment and Management group. It officially opened its first venue in Dubai on 1st October 2016 with plans to expand to London and New York over the next two years. It is accessible from both inside the Grosvenor House Hotel and outside via the Marinas street level. The impressive restaurant accommodates a variety of dining experiences ranging from the formal affair, where diners can enjoy delectable dishes prepared by an open style kitchen amid Turkish murals, to an intimate lounge area allowing the eclectic crowd to unwind and relax whilst the resident DJ sets the tone for the evenings.

Service: Very elegant and friendly staff. The hostess’ are dressed in white long gowns, they almost look like angels floating through the restaurant.

What we loved: The presentation of the drinks were marvelous, the taste was even more enticing than its appearance. Totally Instagram worthy! We had high expectations after being served such out of the world drinks and it sure did live up to our expectations. We started off with the  Fırın Pancar salad and the Patlicanli domates Salatasi (a mixture of tomato, cucumber and eggplant – salad). Both these dishes were extremely FRESH. Coming to the mains, the asparagus was very well cooked. The Zeytinyagli Ahtapot ( Marinated & grilled octopus with chili) was the best starter we had during the night. Once you start you just cannot stop! Moreover, the Acili Kanat (Turkish chili grilled chicken wings with Marash pepper) were super juicy and delicious, it just melts in your mouth. Similarly, the Sea bass that comes with almonds simit and sumac is a good mixture of ingredients that goes super well all together. It’s one of the best sea bass we have tasted only because you don’t get the typical raw taste. You can’t leave without trying everything Rüya has to offer, especially the desserts, they are definitely a must have. We had 3 different kinds of dessert but our favorite was the chocolate one. It was indeed a MASTER PIECE. Rüya is surely an experience to experience.

What we didn’t like as much: The food took ages to arrive. Finding a server to follow up on our order was a mission as the place is super crowded and their staff is always busy. There wasn’t any dish in specific we didn’t enjoy.
What we recommend:

  • Almost every drink on the menu
  • Panfried Sea Bass with almonds simit and sumac
  • Zeytinyagli Ahtapot ( Marinated & grilled octopus with chili)
  • Acili Kanat (Turkish chili grilled chicken wings with Marash pepper)
  • Grilled Tiger Prawns with caramelized fennel and fennel butter

Ambiance: The minute you enter the restaurant, you just get very romantic vibes because of the Turkish Music that plays in the background with dim lighting, candles on each table, and just the beautiful décor gives off those vibes. It’s a lively restaurant, lounge and bar experience all together. Rüya even has a live violinist that catches the eye.
