“Andalusian elegance meets Polo in Dubai”

Getting to know the resort + checking in...

At first, the only St.Regis hotel we knew of in Dubai was the Shk Zayed Road one. We had absolutely no idea of this hidden gem in Dubai, mainly because the area is very lowkey and quite isolated. Once you enter the St Regis gates though, it’s legit like a new world and definitely NOT isolated one bit. Most of all, it’s extraordinarily beautiful! There’s so much more to this hotel than just like any of regular one (we’ll get into the details a bit later). Getting into the check-in process… it was actually one of the quickest ones for us so far. Right from the drive way of the hotel to the reception and hall ways – everything is just so pretty! St.Regis just has such a signature classy touch when it comes to interiors, it’s amazing. Another thing about this hidden gem, apart from rooms & suites they have also have four bedroom villas (where we stayed the night) which is the ultimate weekend getaway, you don’t feel like you’re even in Dubai.

Our polo view villa...

The villas are on the opposite side of the hotel, across the polo field which is massive. A buggy with your own private butler takes you back and forth – such royal feels especially with everything inspired by the Andalusian period. We stayed at one of the villas with the entire polo field and hotel view, it is insane!!! The view is just out of this world. They have about 25 villas, all with 2 floors and 4 bedrooms, it’s made in a very modern yet homely manner. As you enter the villa, the guest room is just on right (pretty spacious + has an en suite bathroom). After that there’s a guest bathroom in the hallway just before the staircase. There’s two entrances, one towards the kitchen and maids room and the other takes you to the living room and outdoor pool area or the garden. The kitchen is super spacious and it’s very well equipped, they’ve kept everything you would need in your day to day life, from cutlery to a dishwasher. From the kitchen you can see the dining area, which is decorated so nicely with polo race and horse pictures every few steps. The dining table itself was such a unique piece and the cutlery was even better. To top it all up, the cuties at St. Regis decorated the house with a few balloons here and there knowing it was one of our birthdays! Opposite the dining area comes the living room – with a tv, a few sofas, and coffee tables, super chill vibe. You can access the garden area from its main door, the living area sliding door or even from the dining area. This was the perfect spot for all those Instagram shots with the polo field background, and of course who doesn’t love a private pool? You truly feel so relaxed at this villa, it does not feel like you’re still in the same city. Moving upstairs… it’s quite simple and spacious, there’s three bedrooms, one to your right, middle, and left. The room with the twin beds was just like the usual, it did have a beautiful balcony and view though. Next, the master bedroom – absolutely no words! This room was gigantic, and you just get that typical St. Regis classy feel when you see how the interiors are done. As soon as you enter there’s a dresser to your right and a closet area + bathroom right opposite. Takes you a few steps to get to the bed and even more steps to get to the balcony/terrace area which has the pool and entire polo field view, it’s breathtaking. Another thing I love about the villa is that each room as it’s own TV! The last room, aka “the second master bedroom” was equally massive and was pretty much similar to the master.

Exploring the polo resort...

We’ve probably said this a gazillion times but there truly is so much to explore at the resort. It’s massive! As soon as we were done with the check-in process, we headed over to archery. None of us had actually tried archery before this. It’s such a fun experience! Both the coaches were so helpful and easy-going, they never make you feel awkward or like you're unskilled when your arrow does not even touch the board haha! Archery is available daily from 10:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 17:00. 6 lanes with the best equipment offering 5m to 20m distances, Re-curve bows. All Tabs, Arm Guards and Releases supplied and it's 150 per person. You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to try out the activities. You can always pop-in just for horse-riding, archery, mini golf, or any of the many recreational activities they host.

Afternoon tea at the equestrian lounge

The Equestrian Lounge is kind of like a lobby lounge, you'll see it as soon as you enter the main hotel. It is located around Maswar Courtyard with two terraces overlooking the polo fields. It's a super chill lounge with a bunch of tables and sofas, classy as ever! We popped in on Saturday at around 3pm for their afternoon tea and we absolutely loved it. It's quite a relaxing experience, tea, bites, and a live pianist and violinist playing soothing music. The service at this place was a 10/10, the girls were so sweet & helpful! They first come with an entire trolley of different kinds of teas - so you can smell and decide which one to order. We went for the black cardamon tea and passionfruit tea, I must say they had quite a variety of teas (something we've never seen before). Next, they bring the classic St.Regis signature horse tray filled with delicious hand-made bites like, salmon sandwiches, macaroons, chocolate cake, etc. It truly is an amazing experience and everything is so pretty (I think you can tell from the photos). Daily Afternoon Tea: 2 pm - 6 pm ~ Price: AED 180 for two persons.

Our experience at Iridium Spa…

The next morning, I booked myself in for a full body scrub + massage at their spa which is a pretty well known and reputed one. Iridium Spa has a total of six treatment rooms (three male, three female), separate female and male wet areas that include steam room, sauna, ice fountain and rain shower experience. The transformative journey at Iridium Spa focuses on bestowing the rarest luxury of all time. The Equestrian Journey basically helps to not only relax and massage your muscles but also to get rid of most of the dry skin on your body – which is great, it’s just what I needed. The service, of course was simply amazing and so was the treatment, I didn’t expect anything less from St. Regis. Equestrian journey? "Combine skill, expertise and tradition and allow our therapists to leave feeling contented and energised. Begin your experience with our grounding foot ritual before your body is prepared for massage with full body brushing. Indulge in a full body massage, combining traditional movements with bespoke equestrian massages techniques like walk, trot, canter and gallop to help release tensions from the day and leave you in a divine state of bliss. 90 mins" - AED 930
