The Amazonian Clay 12-hour foundation – SPF 15 Sunscreen is an oil-free, 12-hour liquid foundation formulated with Amazonian clay and non-chemical sunscreen filters. Dispense a dime sized amount of foundation to the back of your hand. Pick up a small amount using the buffer™ airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush and sweep onto skin in light, circular motions, starting at the center of the face and blending outward. Get 12 hours of flawless coverage with this long-wearing, skin-perfecting formula with UVA/UVB SPF 15. It’s full-coverage and supremely blendable and buildable formula has a weightless texture and is available in a broad range of shades. Everyone can achieve skin that looks healthy and natural.

In my opinion,

I quite like this foundation, I think it gives you a medium to full coverage. I love how they have a shade for all types of skin tones (yellow, neutral, etc). I was obviously super excited to try out this all new tarte foundation that has finally launched in all Sephora stores in the Middle East. As you apply this foundation, it’s not too heavy but still gives you a good amount of coverage and is semi matte, so you still get that glow. It’s good for combination skin as well as normal skin. This Amazonian Clay foundation isn’t very thick that’s why I like to wear it when I’m going for an everyday (natural) kind of look, it’s very comfortable on my skin and looks just as good at 8pm as it did at 8am (does require touch ups if you’re outdoors). On the other hand, it’s even perfect for a night out since it’s so buildable you can achieve a full coverage glamorous look. I’d definitely recommend this foundation if you’re looking for something that gives you a medium to full coverage but at the same time, doesn’t look too cakey or heavy. The texture is so soft you don’t really feel like you’re applying foundation, it super buildable and blendable!

Pros:

  • Nourishing and somewhat moisturizing
  • SPF 15 Sunscreen with an oil proof formula
  • Waterproof
  • Full coverage (with multiple coats)
  • Weightless texture and very blendable
  • Satin finish
  • Buildable

Cons:

  • Does require touch ups for long wear
  • A single coat only gives medium coverage

The packaging & quantity

A cute tube like container, which i personally appreciate. I’d much rather be satidfied by being able to press out the last bit of foundation rather than the pump-like containers where the last bit will just never come out. It’s definitely safer while travelling as it has a screw on cap. Quantity wise, I’m absolutely ecstatic about since its 50 mL, which is 20mL more than the standard 30mL.

I am absolutely going for this tarte foundation. I usually like lightweight foundations that allow the skin to breathe. Great review!

  • I’m all about the eco-friendly and love to use a foundation that has a daily SPF in it. Cuts down on time and one less product to buy. Thanks for the introduction to this brand.

  • Yay for tarte foundation! I love their lip colors and use several other products. Happy you reviewed it, looks like a win, gonna try it.

  • I really want to try the foundation – you described exactly what I’m looking for: full to medium coverage without looking cakey 😉

I love Tarte. It’s one of the only foundations that doesn’t break me out!

I didn’t have good experience with Tarte before but their foundation looks amazing. I might need to give them a second chance.

  • Never tried any tart products before, but will defiantly be trying some out when I get paid again.

  • I love Tarte’s lip colors, but have never tried their foundation! Maybe I need to after all!
